Pastor Charles E. Faulks, Sr.


Rev. Charles E. Faulks, Sr., is a native of Garland City, Arkansas.  He accepted Christ at an early age, and was a member of the Wynn Baptist Church, where he got his spiritual foundation.  Rev. Faulks married the love of his life in October, 1987, the former Miss Beverly Dews.  They have been married for 24 years, and have one son, C. J. Faulks.

In March 1994, Rev. Faulks surrended to the Lord's will by accepting his call to the ministry.  On  May 29, 1994, Rev. Faulks preached his first sermon at the Mt. Elam Baptist Church in Whitehouse, Texas.  Since that time, God has truly elevated his ministry from one degree of Grace to Another.

Rev. Faulks has pastored 3 churches.  He was called in August, 1994 to Pastor the Mt. Zion  Baptist Church, Troup, Texas.  He faithfully served that church for 7 months.  In March 1995, he heard the call of God to resign from Mt. Zion, and became the Pastor of the Growing Valley Baptist Church, Longview, Texas.  Under Pastor Faulks, God added to the church more ways than one.  Membership doubled, land purchased all around the church, Mid-Week services were revitalized along with Early Morning Worship Service, After School Program, Bus Ministry, Heart-to-Hand Ministry, Brother-to-Brother Ministry, and the list goes on. 

On July 9, 2011, Rev. Faulks was called to Pastor the North Star Misssionary Baptist Church, Tyler, Texas.  Through his preaching, so many lives have been touched.  Pastor Faulks have been blessed to preach and teach the Word of God all across the country.

Pastor Faulks has been directly involved with several religious organizations; serving 9 years  as Vice-Moderator of the East Texas Baptist Longview District Association.  He served for 5 years as the Texas Education Baptist State Convention's Ministers' Division, President.  Rev. Faulks is an instructor for the National Baptist Congress of Christian Education, and his work has lead the members of Texas Education Baptist State Convention to elect him as President of their Convention, January 2008, and a 2nd Term, October 2011.

Rev. Faulks also is a volunteer at his son's school with the PTO.  We feel that everyone who comes in contact with him will see his passion for the Lord and his love for God's people.
